In terms of dietary principles, it truly isn’t rocket science. Don’t eat too much. Consume sufficient protein. Avoid too much processed food and sugars. Eat lots of vegetables and some fruit. A simple rule we like is to do most of your grocery shopping around the edges of the supermarket – the more perishable the stuff that you can fill your trolley with, the better the chance that it will be doing you some good. Apart from that, the only hard part is sustaining the process over time. Fad diets may offer some short-term results, but they are unlikely to be successful in the longer term. Again, the policy we would advocate is to make incremental, sustainable changes. This is another area where you should be seeking to go always a little further.
